ADMISSION PROCESS AT UV GULLAS COLLEGE OF MEDICINE PHILIPPINES


STEP 1: Applying online

Candidate needs to submit the application form along with the documents mentioned below at the Office

Documents needed for the initial evaluation:

  1. Completed Application Form and Personal History
  2. Photocopy of Transcript of Records
  3. Photocopy of National Medical Admission Test (NMAT) result
  4. For non-native English speakers, English Proficiency Test marks.
  5. Application Fee (non-refundable)

STEP 2: Evaluation of documents at Dean Office

The Submitted documents will be evaluated and the applicant will be informed of the status of his/her application. If the applicant is qualified, the UV Gullas College of Medicine will send the following documents:

  1. Notice of Acceptance (NOA)*
  2. Personal History Statement forms for the applicant to fill-up (6 copies)
  3. Certificate of Eligibility for Admission (CEA) form for the applicant to fill-up

STEP 3: Authentication by the Philippine Foreign Service Post (PFSP)

The original documents listed above should be completed and mailed back to the Office of UV Gullas College of Medicine along with documents listed below duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post (PFSP) in your home country:

  1. Official transcript of records and diploma
  2. Notarized Affidavit of Support from parents/legal guardian, including bank statements or notarized notice of grant for institutional scholars to cover applicant’s expenses for school dues, accommodation, subsistence and other incidental expenses
  3. Photocopy of Passport pages where the name, photo, birthdate, birthplace are clearly mentioned
  4. Student’s Personal History Statement (6 copies) with 2 x 2 recently taken photograph
  5. Police Clearance issued by the National Police Authorities in the student’s country of origin or residence
  6. Birth certificate

NOTE: The above-mentioned documents should be completed and mailed back to the Office of UV Gullas College of Medicine at least 30 days prior to the start of the academic year.



STEP 4: Issuance of Student visa

  • UV Gullas College of Medicine endorses the above documents to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Manila, together with the NOA and CHED-approved CEA for processing.
  • After approval, the DFA notifies the Foreign Service Post for the issuance of a student visa.
  • The applicant then has to appear in person before the Philippine Foreign Service Post over the place for an interview.

Documents required for VISA

The following documents are required for the issuance of a Philippines Student Visa:

  1. Original copy of the school’s Notice of Acceptance issued by the Office of the Dean containing a clear impression of the school’s official dry seal and addressed to the student
  2. Letter from the School Registrar requesting the issuance of a Student Visa 9(f) to the applicant addressed to: “The Director of the Visa Division – Office of Consular Affairs Department of Foreign Affairs”
  3. Six copies of the original Personal History Statement duly accomplished and signed by the applicant, both in English and his national language, accompanied by a personal seal and containing candidate’s original left and right thumbprints
  4. 2” x 2” photograph on plain white background taken not more than six months prior to submission
  5. Transcript of Records/Scholastic Records, duly authenticated by the Philippine Embassy or Consulate in the applicant’s country of origin or legal residence
  6. Notarized Affidavit of Support, including bank statements or notarized notice of grant for institutional scholars to cover applicant’s expenses for school dues, accommodation, subsistence and other incidental expenses;
  7. Original copy of the CEA approved by the CHED
  8. Visa Application form (FA form no. 2)
  9. Medical Certificate (FA form no. 11)
  10. Chest x-ray, laboratory report and clearance certificate for the AIDS antibody (HIV test)
  11. Police Clearance from the local police authorities where the applicant has been permanently residing for the last five years
  12. Guarantee coverage of return fare and other incidental expenses;
  13. Life-size chest x-ray film;
  14. Eight copies of 2 x 2 coloured photos;
  15. Unexpired passport

STEP 5: Enrollment at UV Gullas College of Medicine

Students may now enrol at the UV Gullas College of Medicine by submitting the following documents at the Registrar’s Office:

  1. Student Visa
  2. Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR) from the Bureau of Immigration (issued upon presentation of the student visa)
  3. Photocopy of the passport


DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION AT UV GULLAS COLLEGE OF MEDICINE


A foreign national applying for admission to the University shall be required to submit the following documents:

  • Duly filled application of College Admission Form
  • Photocopy of the Passport valid not less than six (6) months beyond the intended period of stay in the Philippines
  • Official Transcript of Records authenticated at the Philippine Embassy of the country of origin of the applicant
  • Affidavit of sponsorship by parent/s or legal guardian to be authenticated in the Philippine Embassy
  • 8 photographs (2×2 sized)
  • Photocopy of Certificate of Good Moral Character authenticated at the Philippines Embassy
  • Photocopy of the Medical Health Certificate issued by an authorized physician including standard-size chest X-ray, HIV test, and Hepatitis-B clearance
  • National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NCI) Clearance;
  • National Medical Admission Test (NMA) results
  • Diploma or Certificate of Graduation from an allied collegiate course (if applicable)
  • Application for Transfer/ Another Degree Form (for transfer students)
  • For non-native English speakers, applicants are required to take and pass the English Proficiency Test.


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR INDIAN STUDENTS AT UV GULLAS COLLEGE OF MEDICINE

Online applications for NEET SS 2020 / NEET Super Speciality courses have commenced; Check the important dates



The Applications process have commenced for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-NEET SS 2020. The students who want to take admission to DM and MCh Courses should apply for the NEET SS 2020 examinations. NBE also utilizes the merit generated through NEET SS exam for admissions to its DNB Super speciality courses.

The Online Application process for NEET Super Speciality has commenced from August 3rd and will be open till August 23rd, 11:55 pm the interested candidates can apply on the official website of the NBE at www.nbe.edu.in.

The edit window for NEET SS applications will be open from 24th August to 25th August 2020 only for the registered candidates.

NEET-SS 2020 computer-based examination will be held on September 15th at various centres spread across the country and the NEET SS Result is expected to be released on September 25th.

NEET SS 2020: HOW TO FILL ONLINE APPLICATION FORM


  • STEP 1: Fill the user registration form to generate a User ID/Application ID and Password. User ID and Password will be sent through SMS and Email.
  • STEP 2: Now use this User ID and Password created to log in as an applicant for NEET SS 2020 and register an online application on the “Go to Application” link.
  • STEP 3: Complete the application form by entering the required details correctly-Father & Mother Name, Gender, DOB, Nationality, Email ID, Mobile No.
  • STEP 4: Choose your preferred Test City among the 57 tentative test centres. The choice of the city will depend on the availability of the test centres in a particular city and the allotment shall be done on a first come first serve basis.
  • STEP 5: Pay the prescribed examination fee online through the payment gateway available in the online application form. No other payment mode will be accepted.
  • STEP 6: Preview the entire application before submission in order to make any corrections, if required. Accept the declaration and Submit.
  • STEP 7: Take a print out of the filled Application form with Transaction ID printed on it for records for future reference.
  • STEP 8: An acknowledgement email will also be sent to the registered email ID confirming the submission of an application by the candidate.

NEET SS 2020: EDIT WINDOW


  • Candidates who have successfully submitted their application during Application Submission window shall only be allowed to edit their applications during 24th August to 25th August 2020.
  • No new application can be registered during edit window
  • Candidate should ensure that all the information entered during the online submission of application form is correct and factual as any request for change in the information provided by the candidates will not be entertained.
  • The option of editing certain information entered in the application form shall be available to the candidates during the edit window only for the editable details.

NEET SS 2020: ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA


  • Candidates possessing recognized postgraduate medical Degree/Provisional Pass Certificate (MD/MS/DNB) or an equivalent recognized qualification or likely to be in possession of the same by 25th September 2020 in accordance with eligible broad speciality qualifications for super speciality courses.
  • Candidates should ensure before applying for the examination that they possess or likely to possess by 25th September 2020 the Degree/Provisional Pass Certificate of MD/MS/DNB qualification in the eligible speciality duly recognized as per provisions of Indian Medical Council Act or an equivalent recognized qualification.

NEET SS 2020: ADMIT CARD


  • Candidates will be informed through SMS/Email alerts and website notice regarding the availability of the admit card on the National Board of Examinations website.
  • Admit card will not be sent to the candidates by Post/Email.
  • Candidates are required to download their admit card from the NBE website and affix firmly their latest passport size photograph in the space provided on the admit card.
  • Admit cards are expected to be available on 7th September 2020.

  • The result for NEET-SS 2020 is expected to be declared by 25th September 2020.

12-months Internship training in India not mandatory for Foreign Medical Graduates


In a recent notice, released on 30th July 2020 by the Medical Council of India (MCI) the authorities have brought to notice that there have been frequent queries from Foreign Medical graduates regarding the 1-Year mandatory Internships undergone at Foreign Medical Institutes. To clear the dilemmas being faced by the Foreign Medical graduates and their folks the Medical Council of India (MCI) has released the notification of acceptable 12-month Internship from Countries abroad.

The authorities have stated that Indian Nationals who have obtained “Primary Medical Qualification” from countries such as China, Bangladesh, Nepal, Philippines, Russia, etc and completed the 12 Month Internship Training in the Foreign Institute during his/her MBBS course abroad are not required to do the 12 months Internship training in India as well.

All the State Medical Councils have also been advised to follow the same advisory while processing the application of Foreign Medical graduates who are applying for State Medical Registrations.

The 12-month Internship Training completed abroad is acceptable for granting the Permanent Registration under section 13(3) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 after passing the FMGE for practising in the country.

This notification will definitely benefit a lot of Foreign Medical Graduates studying MBBS abroad or already obtained Primary Medical Qualification abroad and seeking Permanent Registration under MCI & State Medical Councils.

Every year the FMGE /MCI Screening Test is conducted by the National Board of Examinations in the months of June and December, but due to the unforeseen COVID 19 pandemic, the June 2020 session FMGE Exam has been deferred to 31st August 2020.

MCC Extends date for PG Medical Admission through Stray vacancy round Counselling



The Office of the ADG(ME) has released a notice on the MCC website on 31st July 2020 regarding the Stray Vacancy Round of PG medical Counselling 2020. Government of Rajasthan and Private Medical Colleges of Bihar had earlier requested the concerned authorities for the extension of the last date of admission in MD/MS Courses for the academic session 2020-21. Reviewing the circumstances and the petition the Hon’ble Court has decided to extend the last date for admission in Post Graduate Courses (Broad Speciality) for the academic year 2020-21 only on the National basis from 31st July 2020 to 31st August 2020.

Candidates will be provided with the opportunity for ‘Fresh Registration’ who could not register for the earlier rounds. These candidates were Not Eligible for Stray Vacancy Round of Counselling and could not participate in the stray round admission facility. The MCC of DGHS will provide the facility for Fresh Registration and Payment, which will be available from 3rd August 2020 to 7th August 2020.

There will be No Choice Filling or Fresh Allotment by MCC during this phase. Firstly, a list of eligible candidates (already Registered + New Registration) will be sent to concerned Universities according to the vacant seats available. Then the candidates can directly report to the Institute for allotment which will be done as per merit. The time of Reporting for Stray Vacancy Round will be till 14th August 2020. The choice to conduct extended Stray Vacancy Round and allotments will be at the discretion of university subject to vacant seats left after 31st July 2020.

Candidates who intend to participate for extended Stray Vacancy Round are advised to contact the concerned University with respect to their eligibility conditions and seat availability after 31st July 2020.


REGISTRATION & PAYMENT FACILITY FOR DEEMED UNIVERSITIES(REVISED DATES)


The facility for Fresh Registration will be available only for Deemed Universities from 4th August 2020 (from 10:00 AM) to 7th August 2020 (till 05:00 PM) and Payment Facility will be available from 4th August 2020 (from 10:00 AM) to 7th August 2020 (till 11:59 PM) as per server time. All the fees applicable will be for Deemed Universities.

National Medical Admission Test (NMAT) Philippines



National Medical Admission Test (NMAT) is a nationwide admission examination necessary to qualify by the candidates who intend to take undergraduate admission at any medical school in the Philippines.

The NMAT is administered twice a year, usually during the months of March and October. The exam must be taken not more than two (2) years from the time of admission to medical school with a percentile score equivalent to or higher than that prescribed by the school or the Commission, whichever is higher.

The NMAT is a two-part multiple-choice question paper test: Part I is formulated to assess the mental ability and Part II is formulated to assess academic proficiency.

Part 1 is administered in the morning with a time allotment of 3 hours. Part 2 is administered in the afternoon with a time allotment of 2 ½ hours. In total, the exam comprises of 5 hours and 30 minutes in a day.

The four subtests in NMAT Part 1 measure the aptitude significant for the correlations with academic performance of medical students, while the four subtests that compose NMAT Part 2 measure subject proficiency in areas which are part of the academic background required of applicants to the medical course.

NMAT-PART 1

The subtests in Part 1 are as follows:

VERBAL: This subtest consists of two parts- word analogies and reading comprehension, which evaluates verbal reasoning, inferential, and analytical abilities. Reading comprehensions are based on the content of published materials covering a wide range of topics, e.g., social, scientific, medical, philosophical, literary.

INDUCTIVE REASONING: This part of the subtest consists of a number, letter, and figural series and figure grouping items. This measures induction, reasoning, the ability to perceive relationships among stimuli and draw a logical conclusion or infer a general rule.

QUANTITATIVE: This part of the subtest consists of -fundamental operations (or direct computation), problem-solving, and data interpretation. These items are intended to evaluate general reasoning and the ability to organize and apply knowledge of basic mathematics and reasoning.

PERCEPTUAL ACUITY: This part of the subtest consists of a hidden figure, mirror image, and identical information. These tests are majorly visual recognition tasks that are complicated distractions. Finding solutions to these items involve accuracy by focusing on relevant details, analyzing relationships, and visualization.

NMAT-PART 2

The four subtests that compose Part 2 are:

  • Biology
  • Physics
  • Social Science
  • Chemistry

Social Science includes topics in psychology, sociology, and anthropology.

The topics in the four subtests are limited to concepts that are common and basic to the curriculum of college introductory courses, mainly the premedical courses.

These four subtests are designed to evaluate the mental abilities & cognitive skills—understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and synthesizing of the candidates.


NMAT RESULT


  • The electronic result of the NMAT Exams is declared in about 20 working days from the test date
  • Click on the link for Test Results under the Online Options on the Centre of educational Management (CEM) website to check status, view and/or download a copy of the NMAT result
  • The NMAT score will be printed on the Examinee Report Form (ERF). The original copy will be mailed to the address indicated on the NMAT Registration Form.
  • If you have not received your NMAT Result 2 weeks after release, you may contact the NMAT Secretariat
  • NMAT must be taken not more than 2 years from the time of admission for MBBS in Philippines


ELIGIBILITY OF INDIAN STUDENTS FOR MD PROGRAM


  • After completing 10+2 from India, one has to enrol for the BS course
  • The duration of the BS course is about 10 months to 2 years, depending on the University
  • After qualifying the BS course candidates have to take the NMAT Exam
  • After qualifying the NMAT exam candidates can enrol at the MD Program (equivalent to MBBS in India)
  • The duration of the MD course is 4 Years

NMAT TEST SCORES


There are two sets of scores in the NMAT:

  • Part 1 subtest scores and a composite score called APT
  • Part 2 subtest scores and a composite score called SA
  • A Total score derived from the eight subtests called the General Performance Score (GPS)

The NMAT General Performance Score is evaluated corresponding to a percentile rank (PR) that ranges from 1- to 99+.

NEET PG 2020 revised cut-off released: Check it out here


National Board Of Examination has issued an official notice today on 14th July 2020 regarding NEET PG 2020 revised cut-off scores. The revised NEET PG 2020 scores for General category candidates is 275, for the reserved categories it is 230 and for the unreserved PwD category candidates, the cut-off is 252. 

NEET PG 2020 was conducted on 5th January 2020 for admission to various MD/MS courses across the country and the result of NEET-PG 2020 was declared by NBE on 18th February 2020. Earlier the NEET PG 2020 cut off for general category candidates was 366, for the reserved categories it was 319 and for the unreserved PwD category candidates, the cut-off was 342. Around 1, 60,888 candidates appeared for this exam out of which, 89,549 qualified the examination.

NEET- PG 2020 is conducted by National Board of Examinations (NBE) for admission to all post-graduate medical courses across the country. When the results NEET PG 2020 results were released, the qualifying cut-off percentile was at 50th percentile for General category, 40th percentile for OBC/SC/ST and 45% percentile for PWD category. Proceeding with the NEET PG 2020 Counselling seats were found left unoccupied. To not let the seats of MD/ MS Courses go vacant the authorities concerned have decided to lower the NEET PG 2020 cutoff percentile to 30 percentile for General category, 20 percentile for OBC/SC/ST and 25% percentile for PWD categoryLast year, the cutoff of NEET PG 2019 was lowered to 44 percentile for general category , 39 percentile for persons with a disability, and 34 percentile for SC/ST/OBC category candidates.

In accordance with official statement, the minimum qualifying percentile has been revised for NEET-PG 2020 as follows:

The revised score card of all the candidates who appeared in NEET-PG 2020 can be downloaded from NEET-PG official website from 20th July, 2020 onwards. The revised Score card will not be sent individually to the candidates. The central government has requested all states to make necessary arrangements for allowing students as per revised qualifying marks in any further rounds of counselling this year. The National Board of Examination (NBE) was also advised to furnish revised merit list for all the states.The move will benefit a lot of NEET PG 2020 Candidates who were unable to secure a seat.

NEET PG counselling is conducted in two steps which includes All India counselling and State Level counselling. The NEET PG counselling 2020 for 50% All India Quota seats is being conducted by Directorate General of Health Sciences on behalf of Medical Council of India and counselling for the 50% of state quota seats is conducted by the respective State Counselling Authority.

All India counselling is held in two rounds – first and second. A mop-up round is further conducted for central, Deemed universities and ESIC only. Candidates are required to participate in the online NEET PG 2020 counselling and fill in their choices of institutions in the order of their preferences. The allotment of seats in various institutions is based on the candidates’ merit rank and the opted preference. The result of each round of NEET PG counselling is declared on the official website of MCC.

NBE has decided to waive the requirement of Attestation of Degree certificates for FMGE JUNE SESSION 2020



The National Board of Examination (NBE) on July 7th 2020 released the information brochure for the Foreign Medical Graduate Exam- FMGE 2020 June session along with other important details. the application form is available from 8th July 2020, and will be able to fill by the candidates till 22nd July 2020. The entrance examination for FMGE 2020 will be conducted on 31st August 2020 for issuing a provisional or permanent registration from the Medical Council of India (MCI) or State Medical Council (SMC) to qualifying candidates.

Earlier in the Information Bulletin of FMGE June 2020, it was stated to compulsorily submit Degree certificate of Primary Medical qualification issued on or before the cut-off date i.e. 31st July 2020,  either by the Indian Embassy or apostilled by the appropriate authority of the foreign country concerned. But in the view of COVID 19 pandemic and its related travel restriction, on 10th July 2020 NBE has decided to waive the requirement of attestation of degree certificates by the Indian Embassy concerned and to enable the candidates to appear in the Foreign Medical Graduate Exam- FMGE 2020 June session examination being held on 31st August 2020.

The Result of all such candidates who are being granted a waiver from attestation to appear in the FMGE 2020 June session examination shall be put on hold and will be declared after the submission of attested copies of degree certificates.



The National Board of Examinations (NBE) is the conducting body of FMGE-Screening Test that has been introduced through the Screening Test Regulations 2002.  As per the regulations, “An Indian citizen/Overseas citizen of India possessing a Primary Medical Qualification awarded by any medical institution Outside India who is desirous of getting provisional or permanent Registration with Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council on or after 15.03.2002 shall have to qualify a screening test conducted by the prescribed authority for that purpose as per the provisions of section 13 of the Act.”

National Board of Examinations shall be conducting the Social Distanced – Computer Based Test (SD-CBT) in a safe and secure environment using touch-free processes maintaining social distancing norms wherever needed. NBE has also asserted that it reserves its rights to review the test day processes of conduct of CBT in wake of changing scenario of COVID-19 pandemic.
