How to get medical benefits in Poland and Arrange your health insurance?

While living abroad, it is important to be prepared for any medical issues in advance. You should know where you can turn if you need medical assistance. Citizens of the European Union can avail an international social insurance card (EHIC) and receive treatment under the same conditions and at the same cost as people insured in Poland.

Students of the non-EU/EEA countries can purchase their own international medical insurance before arriving in Poland, they can also sign a voluntary health insurance agreement with the National Health Fund (Narodowy Fundusz Zdrowia – NFZ) and pay an  insurance fees of about EUR 15 a month and avail all free medical care and use university health care clinics and health centers of Poland. Foreign students have the option of purchasing additional accident insurance if they want.
