NEET 2019 Exam Details

Medical aspirants appearing for NEET 2019 to pursue medical, dental and AYUSH courses should acquaint themselves with the exam pattern beforehand for appearing for the NEET 2019 entrance exam.

This year NTA will be conducting the NEET 2019 exam and has scheduled the examination for May 5 in offline (pen-paper) mode. Candidates qualifying for the exam will be able to secure a seat for approximately 65,000 MBBS and 25,000 BDS seats in medical and dental colleges across India.

Students may challenge against the answer key but it must be done within the prescribed dates. There will be no provision of re-evaluation/re-checking of the answer sheets after the declaration of cut-off.

The examination will comprise 180 questions divided equally among Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology & botany). The exam will cover, class 11 and class 12 syllabuses of these 3 subjects.

The duration of NEET 2019 is 3 hours. There will be +4 marks for every correct answer, while -1 will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

The language of the question will be English, Hindi, Tamil, Assamese, Oriya, Kannada, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Urdu, and Telugu.

Question Paper Pattern of NEET 2019

The question paper will have questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology syllabus of both class XI and XII.

Physics and Chemistry have 45 questions each. Biology has 90 questions divided equally among Botany and Zoology.

NOTE:

  • NEET Merit List will also be used from now on to allot seats in veterinary colleges for undergraduate courses like BVSc. and Animal Husbandry under 15% of All India Quota.
  • NEET Merit will be applicable for admissions to all medical colleges of India except for AIIMS and JIPMER, which conduct their own medical entrance exams.

NEET 2019 Result Declaration Date

The results will be declared around June 5, 2019 at the official portal of the National Testing Agency in the form of the scorecard. The scorecard will have candidates’ All India Rank (quota and category), overall and sectional marks and percentile. The counselling procedure will be started after the result declaration.

All India Merit List will be prepared by NTA, containing names of qualified candidates with their corresponding NEET2019 Rank.
