HOW TO TACKLE STRESS BEFORE EXAMS

ONE TIME NEET-UG EXEMPTION FOR STUDYING MBBS ABROAD: KNOW THE DETAILS

How to obtain MCI eligibility certificate to study MBBS abroad

USMLE Step 1 Exam for Foreign Students

HOW TO TACKLE STRESS BEFORE EXAMS

Avoiding stress when the exams are just around the corner seems like an impossible feat to accomplish; after all, you have been preparing for this exam tirelessly for such a long time. Now that it’s time to take the exams being stressed is the first response our brain goes into and it is somewhat the most natural feeling experienced by all students.

Even though stress and panic are an unavoidable situation during important exams the important thing to be aware of is the way we perceive these stress and panic signals. If the feelings are negative like:” I am not prepared”; “I feel stressed out”; “I can’t handle the pressure”; “I won’t succeed”, our body responds to these emotions in an unhealthy way, leading us to think about excuses about bad performance or low results even though we have not yet appeared for the exam. This scenario in turn actually adversely affects our performance even if we were better prepared at that time.

In a different scenario, if we see these signals in a positive manner like: “this is a challenge I can beat”; “this is the stepping stone towards my future”; “I am ready to tackle this important challenge”; “I have worked hard for this, I am prepared to do this” our body’s response is healthy and we are moulding our stress towards motivation which also boosts our performance. Adapting to our situations and feelings according to our environment builds a strong personality ready to tackle problems with a rational mind.

During stress take some time to think through the situation that is causing you stress. Is it that you are not prepared that is causing all the negative emotions or you are well prepared but lack confidence which is causing the trouble. You should know that even the brightest of mind don’t know what will happen next. So instead of worrying about things, you can’t accomplish focus on working to your full potential and relax.

Obstructive ways of thinking will never garner true knowledge. Anytime you experience stress or feel low, talking to friends and family can make a huge difference. Cultivate healthy relationships with people around you on whom you can count on in low phases of your life. These people play an important part in preparing you to deal with stress and negativity. Plus, many of these people may have gone through a similar experience in life and can not only support you but can also suggest strategies to tackle the challenges you’re facing.

It’s okay to feel angry or upset once in a while when you are going through stressful times but you should understand that not every situation is the end of the world. See it through another man’s perspective if this situation was happening to someone else, what you would suggest to them. See the situation differently shows you a clear picture of the problem. Mobilize your energy towards the challenge. Instead of experiencing the problem think of ways for solving it.

It is obvious that a well-balanced diet makes you mentally and physically stronger. It is the source of energy for your brain and body. You cannot win without a strong mind and body. Eat fresh and nutritious food and avoid foods that are high in fat, sugar or highly processed. These foods make you lethargic and create unwanted health problems which lead to disturbance in your studies. Stay hydrated by drinking lots of fluids and water.

If you feel too pressured go for a short walk or jog, fresh air will clear your mind and perk you up. Do activities that help you relax and try to be active. Exercising or meditating is one of the quickest and most effective ways to de-stress and also helps you sleep well. A rested body and mind feel less stressed out in pressured scenarios. A good night’s sleep is necessary for maintaining optimal mental and physical health. Binge studying a few days before exams are less effective than reviewing key points with a fresh mind.

You will come across numerous stressful situations in all the walks of your life every now and then. Instead of letting it ruin your chance practice resilience until it becomes a habit of yours. Once you have mastered the technique of flexible thinking, you can apply it in situations anytime you experience stressful situations and emerge victoriously.

How Covid-19 has impacted the abroad study decision of students

Lucrative employability, augmented reputation, and the prospect of a better social life more often than not have been the dominant factors motivating Indian student’s decision to pursue higher studies abroad. But the global turmoil due to Covid-19 has thrown education all over the world in a loop and has prompted the experts to rethink the conventional mode of education.

Acknowledging the current circumstances and a major shift in the rules and guidelines in every country worldwide the abroad education situation has altered quite a bit. But on a bright side, a majority of parents and students who had planned to study abroad this year are still holding on to their dreams and plan on going ahead with their decisions even amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

Even though there may be a steep fall in the demand of non-STEM international graduates during this time, the demand for science, engineering and technology graduates, who could preferably work for the medical industry, pharmaceutical companies, and in the field of innovation and technology will definitely elevate everywhere around the globe.

With the majority of entrance examinations delayed across India, the enrolment of Indian students in graduate and undergraduate courses abroad will be affected during the fall semester but will not have a substantial impact on the admissions.

In a survey conducted by abroad education consultants, more than 80-90% of Indian students who had planned to study abroad still want to go along with their decisions to study abroad due to the safety measures being put in place everywhere.

Along with strict measures for curtailing the Covid-19 pandemic and taking necessary strides to ensure the safety of every student, universities abroad are boosting other opportunities and facilities to maintain their attractiveness among International students. Few universities have introduced application fee waivers for those in need of financial assistance. Some universities are also planning to defer opening their campus and conduct the classes online for the current semester or until the situation gets in control.

These universities have been in existence for a very long time, including a lot been here for multiple centuries. They have seen many national and international tribulation and crisis before and have a good insight into tackling them.

Every country is at a different stage of the outbreak and governmental responses may vary but the situation is more or less the same in every part of the world. It is clearly evident that the coronavirus is not going away anytime soon and we have to learn to lead a normal life with it for the time being using necessary precautions so that we can continue our life and contribute to the economy instead of being paranoid about it.

Often it is witnessed that candidates work tirelessly for board exams and do not get enough time for the revision of competitive exams as the time difference between both the exams is very less. Though the lockdown has affected the preparation strategy of NEET students in a vast manner, the isolation and extension of exam dates have presented the students with extra time for self-study and revision which is a great opportunity to attain a good score in NEET UG 2020.

UTILIZE THE TIME FOR CRITICAL CONCEPTS

Revision of syllabus as well as notes and practice of papers are most crucial during competitive exam preparations and should be done with full effort and commitment. The lockdown period should be utilised effectively for better revision of NEET entrance test and students should start working on NEET syllabus with more confidence. The lockdown can help the NEET aspirants to focus on critical topics and concepts as they demand more time. Most of the NEET aspirants are unable to finish their revisions in time and end up scoring low rank, aspirants need to utilise the time to focus on critical concepts and fill in the learning gaps.

BENEFIT FROM ONLINE LEARNING MATERIALS

As per the experts, at this time applicants should practice as many NEET mock tests as possible and benefit from as much online learning materials they can get their hands on. They can also download previous years NEET sample papers with answers to analyse their preparation and strategise the revisions accordingly. Candidates can take up the online classes of various coaching institutes to resolve any of their doubts and join peer groups which will keep them motivated as well as informed for the NEET UG 2020 Exam.

TAKE VARIOUS MOCK TEST

As class preparation is no longer an option using the mock tests, sample papers and question papers, one can stay updated with the NEET UG 2020 Exam pattern, structure and time management during the actual exam. One of the most important factors for all NEET Aspirants is to be familiar with the exam structure and what questions are going to be in the paper. Solving mock tests keep the students level headed and make them feel better and more confident during the real exam.

FOCUS ON YOUR HEALTH

Staying in the best of your mental health along with physical well being is very crucial for achieving success in any endeavour. Psychiatrists around the world are claiming that the mental health of the people will suffer a great deal due to the global pandemic. Along with adjusting with the ongoing situation, NEET aspirants also have a burden of NEET UG 2020 Exam preparations, which leads to more risk to their mental health. Therefore, it is crucial for applicants to take good care of themselves and add activities of relaxation in their daily routine.
