Kazan Federal University (KFU) located in Kazan, Russia is one of the oldest universities and was founded more than 200 years ago in 1804 as the Imperial Kazan University. In terms of other researches, KFU gives priority to developments in pharmacology, biomedicine, geology, physics, chemistry, oil and gas, nanotechnologies and information technologies (IT), psychology and cultural studies, humanities, pedagogical and inter-disciplinary spheres. KFU is itself a national research centre of great importance comprising of 33 modern laboratories.
EDUCATION FACILITIES
The Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology of Kazan Federal University uses the most innovative developments to train doctors. Currently, the Institute consists of 13 departments of fundamental medicine and biology, 30 research laboratories, including 2 international clinical bases, 4 educational and scientific bases of summer practices and a simulation centre.
SIMULATION TRAINING
A virtual hospital has been created on an area of 400 square meters, where there are wards of various kinds – emergency rooms, an endoscopy room, virtual operating room, virtual intensive care, maternity ward, paediatrics ward, and children’s intensive care unit.
The centre is equipped with the most modern teaching tools and technologies: simulators and simulation robots, dummies, simulators, electronic phantoms, dummy models and other interactive computerised equipment, as well as real equipment of resuscitation and intensive care units.
ACADEMIC PROGRAMS
At Kazan Federal University more than 50,000 students are enrolled in over 687 degree programs at undergraduate and postgraduate level (including doctoral and double-degree programs with partner universities).
