Established in 1934, Rostov State Medical University is a public higher education institution located in the Rostov-on-Don city of Russia. Rostov-on-Don is a port city and the administrative centre of Rostov Oblast and the Southern Federal District of Russia. It is considered one of the best Medical Universities in Russia and the oldest Medical University after Moscow, St. Petersburg.
Rostov State Medical University has the fourth level of state accreditation which is the highest quality of training in the Russian Federation. Training at Rostov State Medical University is conducted as per the standards applied in European countries. The University annually trains over 5000 to 7000 students, out of them 200-300 candidates are of foreign nationalities and ethnic groups from all over the world. Annually, about 8000 doctors come for retraining at the Faculty Training and more than 1000 interns and residents train at the Faculty of Professional Retraining.

The Clinic of our University is a multi-field medical institution, having 1010+ beds. It provides a high level of effective specialized consultative, diagnostic and medical care to the people of the Rostov Region and other territories of the Southern Federal District and the Russian Federation.
The University also has its bases in the largest city hospitals also, which enables the students to acquire sound practical knowledge and skills. University buildings and clinics are provided with up-to-date equipment and other modern appliances. There are 63 departments, 27 of them are clinically based in the best clinics of the city, more than 150 research and educational institutions function in RSMU.
