Tomsk is a city in Russia located in the south-east of Western Siberia, the capital of the Tomsk region. One of the oldest cities of Siberia, Tomsk came into being in 1604 as a significant trade settlement.

By flight:

  • Bogashevo Airport is the main international airport of Tomsk offering both domestic and international flights.
  • The airport has regular flights to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, Yekaterinburg, Sochi, Surgut, Barnaul, and Nizhnevartovsk. From Moscow, the flight duration is of 4 hrs.
  • Bogashevo Airport is 27km southeast of the city centre. Convenient Bus services operate between the airport and the city centre.

From India to Moscow

There are three major international airports in Moscow: Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo and Vnukovo (Lufthansa, Turkish, Fly Dubai, Syrian Air etc). There are connecting flights from India to Moscow with flight duration around 11 hrs.

By bus:

  • Buses are the most convenient way to reach Tomsk from Novosibirsk. It takes around 4.5 hours.

By train:

  • There is a rail route from the Trans-Siberian Railway junction at Taiga. It takes about 2.5 hours from Tomsk by train.
