General Hospital of Tianjin Medical University

The First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin Medical University (Tianjin Medical University General Hospital) was founded in 1946 and has become the largest comprehensive university hospital in Tianjin, encompassing medical treatment, teaching, research and prevention.

The hospital occupies an area of 77,881.93 square meters and has a construction area of 263,000 square meters with 2468 beds, 33 clinical sections, 8 medical laboratories, 11 medical treatment service centres, 9 clinical research institutes, 3 provincial and ministerial research bases. The hospital has all kinds of advanced facilities and its annual outpatient amount reaches 2.3 million and 55 thousand discharged patients.

Cancer Institute and Hospital of Tianjin Medical University

Tianjin Cancer Institute was established in 1977 and is focused on oncology basic research and clinical transformation application research for many years, the Institute lays emphasis on the prevention, early diagnosis and individualized clinical treatment of tumour diseases.

In the past 5 years, the Institute has recruited a total of 62 doctoral students and 124 postgraduate students, as well as having 64 post-doctoral students and 86 graduated postgraduate students. It has been awarded 83 scientific research projects at and above the provincial and ministerial level, including 3 National Key Technology Research and Development Programs from the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and 55 programs supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.

The Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University was founded in 1972. After more than 40 years of development, the Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University has developed into a comprehensive first-class university hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, and prevention.

The hospital covers an area of 86,000 square meters, a building area of 132,000 square meters, and 1360 open beds. The hospital is fully equipped with 35 clinical departments and 12 medical technology departments. There are 4 municipal institutes of urology, cardiology, infectious diseases, orbital diseases, municipal key laboratories of basic medicine in urology, cardiovascular disease ions and molecular functions.

The old hospital occupies an area of 7,200 square meters, with a total construction area of 12,000 square meters, 241 hospital beds, and more than 3,000 outpatients per day. The new hospital covers an area of 65,000 square meters, with a construction area of 120,000 square meters, with 1,200 approved beds.
