Jalal-Abad is the administrative and economic centre of Jalal-Abad Region in south-western Kyrgyzstan. It is situated at the north-eastern end of the Fergana valley along the Kögart River valley, in the foothills of the Babash Ata Mountains, very close to Uzbekistan border.

Jalal-Abad State University was opened by the president of Kyrgyz Republic on April 2, 1993 as a state educational institution designed to provide training for specialists.

The medical faculty of Jalal-Abad State University is affiliated with the Ministry of Health and Science Education, Kyrgyz Republic.

Due to its competitive education and affordable costs of study, Jalalabad Faculty of Medicine is becoming increasingly popular among International &Indian Students. The standard of MBBS at Jalal-Abad State University is at par with any other European Universities to study MBBS abroad.

After completion of MBBS in Kyrgyzstan at Jalal-Abad State University graduates can successfully continue their education in the selected speciality’s residency programme or medicine field’s Masters Programme in Kyrgyz Republic or in other parts of the world.

Students have the opportunity to study under the guidance of knowledgeable professors from universities from Kyrgyz Republic and abroad, as well as to acquire up-to-date knowledge and skills during MBBS in Kyrgyzstan.

Approximately, 10000 students study at Jalal-Abad State University, more than 700 teachers work, including- 15 doctors of science and professors, and 116 candidates of science and associate professor. In that approximately 1000 students from countries such as India, Iran, Israel, Kazakhstan, Nepal , Palestine, Syria, Turkey, Turkmenistan, the United States, and Uzbekistan.

The university has enrolled more than 4500 students for the medical program. Among which it has sizeable number of Indian Students. MBBS in Kyrgyzstan is one of the preferred study abroad destinations for Indian students.

Teaching hospitals of Jalal-Abad State University are equipped with modern diagnostic and treatment facilities to train students at higher scientific and professional level.

The MBBS at Jalal-Abad State University is offered in English medium. There is no requirement to study local language as a part of the medical curriculum. Each group contains not more than 14 students. Lectures are common for the students of same academic year.

Jalalabad State University is listed with World Health Organization (WHO) and MBBS in Jalalabad State University is approved by Medical Council of India (MCI).

There is a dedicated Student Council established at JaSU to represent the rights and opinions of students studying in Jalal-Abad State University.
