Founded in 1931 S.I. Georgievsky’s Medical Academy is a structural subdivision of the federal state autonomous educational institution of higher education “V.I. Vernadsky’s Crimean Federal University” established by the Federal Government Order with 4th (highest) accreditation level. It has more than 7,000 staff and over 32,000 students, including about 3,000 international students from 54 countries.
Students at S.I. Georgievsky’s Medical Academy are taught according to the curriculum and programs by the Ministry of Health and the university has International Associations Participation with the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE). Clinical Training
Clinical departments of the faculty are situated on the base of large medical institutions of Simferopol, equipped with modern diagnostic facilities. Students’ clinical knowledge – diagnostics and treatment of patients, practical skills – is of particular significance. From the third year onward practical classes and during summer practical training, students work with patients, master and use modern methods of diagnostics and treatment.
Teaching Methodology
For individualized instruction approach the students are taught in an academic group of 10-12. Clinical classes are usually taught in hospital wards and in the rooms of functional, laboratory and instrumental diagnostics.
The students have the possibility to master knowledge and skills actively. Besides, all the necessary conditions for creative work, intellectual development and self-perfection are provided.
Academic facilities
Modern computer technologies are widely used in instruction, students having the possibility to examine patients in computer x-ray rooms, to study functional and anatomical changes of different organs in different diseases with help of cameras under the guidance of teachers.
