NEET-UG 2020:Single entrance exam for admission to all medical institutes across the country including AIIMS and JIPMER institutes

NTA has declared on Monday that the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) 2020 for admission to undergraduate medical courses across India to be held on 3rd May 2020, will be the only entrance exam for admission to all medical institutes across the country including AIIMS and JIPMER institutes.

The decision to hold a single entrance exam NEET UG 2020 by the government has been welcomed positively and appreciated widely by all Medical aspirants and their parents. Until now AIIMS and JIPMER used to hold their own entrance exams and the difference in the pattern of the exam was an added burden on the aspirants. AIIMS exam included questions based on Logical Reasoning and General knowledge and the students used to prepare for this style of paper through coaching classes which made the preparation more difficult for students of rural background who are unable to afford these expenses.

With NEET-UG 2020 being a single entrance exam the candidates won’t have to sit through multiple entrance tests and save them from the hassle of keeping track of multiple exams. All students will be able to compete on common ground and common counselling process will save the parents and students from filling in options and forms on different websites and the bother of running around to attend the various counselling. It will also curtail the nuisance of seat blocking for students qualifying multiple entrance exams.

NEET-UG 2020 shall be conducted in 11 languages, including English and Hindi. The mode of exam will be pen and paper and will consist of one question paper containing 180 multiple-choice questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology). The Duration of Examination will be 3 hours[180 minutes].

The Online Submission of NEET-UG 2020 Application Form (including uploading of photograph and signature) will be open from 2nd December 2019 to 31st December 2019 and the fees can be paid only online up to 1st January 2020. The results of the NEET UG 2020 exam will be declared on June 4, 2020.
