About Kharkiv

Kharkiv is one of the most important cultural and educational centres of Ukraine. It is the second-largest city in Ukraine and is the centre of a metropolitan area comprising many satellite towns. The industrial structure of Kharkiv is headed by engineering.

About University

Established in 1805, Kharkiv National Medical University is a public higher education institution located in the city of Kharkiv, Ukraine. The institution also has branch campuses in Dnipropetrovsk, Luhansk, and Donetsk.

Kharkiv National Medical University is the oldest Medical Institution in Kharkiv and is widely regarded in terms of its influence, reputation, and academic pedigree as a leading university in not just the Ukraine but also the world. Among the University academicians, there are more than 700 teachers, including 102 Doctors of Sciences and Professors, 387 Candidates of Medical Science, 32 members of academies, 17 Honored Scientists.

Since 1951, the University has been training doctors for different countries of Europe, Asia and Africa. At present, there are about 3400 foreign students in the Kharkiv National Medical University who study at the Preparatory Department, Medical, Nursing and Dental Faculties, undergo postgraduate and clinical post-graduate (residency) courses as well as professional probation at departments of the University in Dental, therapy, orthopaedics, surgery, oncology, urology, psychiatry, ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynaecology, as well as other medical specialities. The University has a complex of modern buildings to provide the teaching process. The University has 65 departments equipped with modern classrooms and providing opportunities for high-quality training of students.
