Founded in 1964, Astana Medical University is a premier higher education institution located in Astana now called Nur-Sultan, the capital city of Kazakhstan. Officially accredited and recognized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Astana Medical University (AMU) is also recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
Astana Medical University is one of the leaders in medical education, training competitive specialists in the field of healthcare carrying out its activities in accordance with national and international quality of standards. There are 5185 students, 219 residents, 90 master and doctoral students studying at the university.

The clinical bases of the Astana Medical University are the largest national and republican centres and scientific-research institutes, including branch organizations of National Medical Holding, National Scientific Medical centre, Scientific-Research Institute for Traumatology and Orthopedics, Clinical Hospital of Ministry of Defence of RK, preventive establishments of Astana city, North-Kazakhstan and Akmola oblasts.
Astana Medical University campus is spread in the area of 63 484.16 sq.m. and has 5 academic buildings with lecture halls and classrooms, all equipped with multimedia support. There is also an educational-clinical centre, computer classrooms with Internet access, a well-established library along with reading rooms and sophisticated laboratories for education and research purposes. There are 2 halls of residences, student cafes, as well as buffets inside the university buildings.
The university has set up the museum of “Astana Medical University” for the formation of the cultural, moral and aesthetic personality of the student through the cultivation of social activism, public spirit and pride for the achievements of teachers and employees of the University.
