Founded in 1956 and located in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang, south of China, Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine is a government owned higher educational institute –

Mainly for Traditional Chinese Medicine with the integration of education, scientific research, medical treatment and patent medicine production

Secondly for medical science, pharmaceutical science, engineering and business management by integrating education, science, culture, medical service, health preservation, enterprise development as well as international education and cooperation

The university offers courses in Traditional Chinese Medicine completed in 5 years in Chinese language and Undergraduate Medicine (MBBS) recognized by MCI  completed in 6 years in English language.

AFFILIATIONS AND ACCREDITATION

Affiliated with the Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine there are five hospitals, one pharmaceutical factory, one Traditional Chinese Medicine school, nine research institutes and a clinical cooperation with over twenty other hospitals.

After an assessment in 2003, conducted by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China the Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine was ranked as “AAA” in the field of undergraduate education.

Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine is among the earliest higher educational institutions approved to admit students from abroad by the Chinese Ministry of Education and is authorized to award masters and bachelor degrees.

TEACHING FACULTY

Among teachers and clinical practitioners at Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine there are 286 persons are with senior professional title. 1 National Reputed TCM Master, 33 National Reputed and Senior TCM Doctors, 19 specialists who obtain special government allowance from State Council of the People’s Republic of China, 20 Reputed and Senior TCM Doctors in Guangxi as well as 64 Reputed TCM Doctors in Guangxi.

Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine has 5 disciplines which are authorized to deliver master title, and 44 second disciplines, 25 majors for undergraduates.

STUDENTS ENROLLED

Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine started enrolling undergraduates since 1964 and the overseas students since 1976. There are more than 18,000 students and over 5,200 teaching and medical staff in the University.

In recent years, it has educated more than 1000 students and physicians from over twenty countries including Australia, France, Germany, Ireland, Switzerland, USA, UK, Vietnam, etc.

Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine has 2 campuses as Mingxiu and Xianhu, which is spread in an area of total 1110.93mu (740, 361m2).

The university has 8 affiliated hospitals, in which there are two AAA ranked hospitals offering 1200 Beds for patients.

It has a series of national reputed bases for production, study and scientific research, such as an affiliated medical school, an affiliated pharmaceutical factory, Chongyang Aged Flat, Yuan Zhi Yuan Massage Salon, Hong Zhong Health Club as well as Kang Ti Health Preservation Center.
