NEET 2019: EXAM PATTERN, ADMIT CARD, ANSWER KEY, RESULT, CUT-OFF, COUNSELLING

 

This year National Testing Agency-NTA will conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test- NEET 2019 on May 5, 2019. The registration process and the correction facility for NEET UG 2019 has already completed and the admit card are scheduled to be released on April 15, 2019 according to the official notification. A total of around 16 lac students have applied for the biggest UG medical entrance exam in India this year. Apart from AIIMS and JIPMER all the seats are filled as per the NEET merit. The 15% all India quota seats are filled through MCC counselling and the remaining seats are allocated through state counselling in accordance to the NEET rank.
Ahead of the exams we take a quick look at the exam pattern, last year cut off and other important preparation plans:

NEET2019 EXAM PATTERN-

• MODE OF EXAM- Offline or Pen Paper Mode on an OMR sheet
• QUESTION TYPE-Multiple Choice question
• LANGUAGE-Exam conducted in 11 languages-English,Hindi.Assamese,Bengali,Gujrati,Kannada,Marathi,Oriya,Tamil ,Telugu, Urdu
• DURATION-3Hours
• NO. OF QUESTIONS-180 questions
• SUBJECTS-Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany &Zoology).There is no separate time to attempt different sections.
The distribution of questions from each subject is as follows:

• MARKING-For each correct answer +4 marks and negative marking of -1 for each incorrect answer.

NEET 2019 ADMIT CARD-

NTA issues NEET Admit Card online on ntaneet.nic.in. On the exam day candidates have to carry a clear print out of the NEET2019 admit card, 1 passport size photograph, same as uploaded in the application,1 authorise photo ID,ID proof has to carried in original-PAN card, Voter ID, Driving License, Passport, Ration Card, Adhar Card (with photograph),etc. PwD candidates have to carry PwD certificate issued by a competent authority.

NEET2019 ANSWER KEY-
Once the exam has been conducted successfully at all the test centres across India the answer key will be released online by the NTA and is available to download after a week or two. The candidates can use these to cross check their answers and calculate the probable score.

NEET 2019 RESULT-
The candidates will be able to check their NEET2019 result at the official site of NTA. To check the result, you need to login using necessary information. To qualify the test, the candidate needs to score the minimum percentile.NTA prepares a merit list according to the scores obtained and the qualified candidates are the required to appear for the counselling.

NEET 2019 CUT-OFF-
The qualifying criteria for NEET is50%for the General category and 45% for reserved categories. As per NEET 2018 results, the cut off for about 10,000rank was at about 537 marks out of the total of 720. The cut off for reserved category was also at about 537, 417 and 399 marks for OBC, SC and ST category respectively. In other words, candidates should aim at scoring above 550 marks if they wish to get admission in the 15 % all India quota.

NEET 2019 COUNSELLING –
The counselling for eligible candidates is held by The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and will start most likely in the second week of June 2019 .At the time of NEET2019 counselling candidates will be required to register online with DGHS and eligibility criteria, self declaration, etc of the shortlisted candidates will be verified. NEET 2019 counselling will be conducted in two rounds for 15% All India Quota seats while for the Central & Deemed Universities and ESIC colleges, the counselling will be conducted in three rounds. The counselling result of NEET 2019 will be released in the form of the seat allotment list and seat allotment letter.
