Texila American University (TAU) has established itself as a recognized center for higher education in the field of medicine. TAU offers varied medical programs. It holds high academic standards and emphasis on producing extremely competent physicians and healthcare professionals.

The university is recognized by medical councils of various nations and its programs are approved by many governing bodies. In addition to that TAU is awaiting the CAAM-HP accreditation which will enable TAU’s students to become licensed physicians in the United States, Canada, Caribbean, India, Africa, and many other countries in the world.

Texila American University (TAU) is recognized by the Department of Education Via registration with the National Accreditation Council of Guyana.

• World Directory of Medical Schools (WDMS)

Texila American University is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDMS) which maintains the list of all the medical schools in the world, with accurate, up-to-date and comprehensive information on each school.

WDMS has been developed through a partnership between the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) and the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER)

• Medical Council of Guyana

Texila American University is recognized by the Medical Council of Guyana (MCG) – a regulatory body formed to enhance and monitor the functioning of the medical fraternity in Guyana

• MCI -Medical Council of India

Texila American University is recognized by the Medical Council of India Act 1956 Section 13 (4A) & (4B). All the students who appeared for MCI screening cleared the examination in first attempt. The university’s name can be seen on MCI website.

• Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates

Texila American University is approved by ECFMG that gauges the readiness of International Medical Graduates to acquire residency or fellowship programs in United States. Graduates of TAU are eligible to apply for any step of USMLE in fulfilment of the ECFMG certification requirements for US Residency Positions.

Texila American University is a member of Caribbean Area Network for Quality Assurance in Tertiary Education (CANQATE).CANQATE was established in 2004 as a sub network of International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).
