Kyiv medical university with an excellent record of success was established in 1992 by Dr. Pokanevich Valeriy and the establishment is one of the premier public medical institutes for MBBS in Ukraine.

The university operates across 12 thousand sqm of facilities and has the most advanced and latest infrastructure for comprehensive medical education.

The university has trained over 10,000 health personnel—mainly general practitioners, dentists and pharmacists. More than 1000 students from almost 40 countries like USA, Western Europe, Australia, Africa and Asia are studying at Kyiv Medical University.

The faculty members of Kyiv Medical University counts 300 well qualified medical professionals and scientist. All members of the academic staff have practiced and received qualifications in many reputed universities and clinics.

The Kyiv Medical University is accredited by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine with Level IV, the highest level of accreditation for a higher Educational Institute in Ukraine. The duration of MBBS course is 6 years and Clinical studies begin from third year. Foreign students use classes, reading rooms and libraries, sports and culture complexes, and dormitories on equal basis with Ukrainian students. The medium of instruction is English. The size of class is kept small around 1:12 to ensure better individual attention.

Kyiv Medical University implements the principles and standards of the Bologna Process during the course [agreement between European countries designed to ensure comparability of the standards and quality of higher education qualifications] which ensures a high quality European standard education and an internationally recognized degree.

Kyiv medical university is recognized and listed in all relevant international directories of medical universities such as the International Medical Education Directory (IMED), the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) in US and the Medical Council of Canada (MCC), AVICENNA Directory, Foundation for advancement of international medical education and research (FAIMER), World Health Organization and the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME).

Graduates of Kyiv medical university are eligible to apply for International Licensing Exams like MCI Screening Test (India), USMLE (USA), PLAB (UK), as well as other licensing exams taking place throughout the world and pursue residency and postgraduate programs in the respective countries.

Kyiv medical university is recognized by the European Council of Medicine,  Medical Council of India(MCI) , Ghana Dental and Medical Council, Nigerian Dental and Medical Council and General Medical Council of UK just to name a few.

It has joint research and partnership relations with many scientific institutions of the former USSR and all over the world, such as The Poland Medical Academy, Center of control and prophylaxis of diseases of Department of health protection (CDC, US), the southern Kazakhstan scientific and practical conference with international participation and contract with Knurów Sląsk Hospital, Poland about organization of medical practice for students in 4th and 5th courses of medical faculty of Kyiv medical university.
